TriDrive and TriPath are Resin Driveway Systems from Tricel Composites.

TriDrive is a Resin Bound Sytem

This system is a bound paving system which can be used for external surfacing, internal flooring and for low maintenance tree pit surfacing. It offers a brighter, modern alternative to established concrete, block paving, pattern imprinted concrete or asphalt. The system is mixed using a Forced Action Mixer and the surface is compressed, levelled and consolidated gently but firmly to smooth any irregulartities.

TriPath is a Resin Bonded System

This system is a bonded system which is colloquially known as coat and scatter, or broadcast system because of the technique of spreading the small sized aggregate on to the wet resin surface. This method of applying resin bonded paving means that the finished surface has a somewhat rugous texture as the individual stone particles stand proud of the resin binder. TriPath has the appearance of a loose gravel but the  aggregate is anchored by the resin.

About TriDrive UV Resistant Resin System for Bound Paving

Description

TriDrive UV Resistant Resin System for Bound Paving is a  two-part polyurethane resin system that has been specially formulated for resin bound aggregate paving and driveway systems with ultraviolet resistance

With a wide range of colours and textures available combined with a durability and great performance, TriDrive systems will transform any environment.

Each pack consists of two components, a base and an activator component in sealed containers. TriDrive UV Resistant Resin System for Bound Paving currently comes in a 6.5kg pack size, which is designed for a 100kg aggregate blend, when using our own natural aggregates.

Our range of natural, kiln dried aggregates is available in a 1mm-3mm, and 2mm-5mm range, ideal for the TriDrive system. Larger sized aggregates can be used with a corresponding adjustment to resin film thickness.

Shelf Life

Shelf Life of TriDrive UV Resistant Resin System for Bound Paving is 12 months when undercover in dry conditions. Do not allow extreme temperature fluctuations.

Uses

TriDrive is manufactured as the binder with a resin bound aggregate paving system. It is suitable for both external and internal use.

Areas of use include:

  • Driveways
  • Pathways
  • Cycleways
  • Public Paths
  • Public Parks
  • Office Buildings
  • Around Conservatories
  • Playgrounds
  • Swimming Pool Surrounds
  • Roof Terraces
  • Balconies

TriDrive is a permeable system and therefore SUDS compliant. SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems) is the name given to the relevant UK Government legislation that came into effect in October 2008.  SUDS are surface waste and drainage management methods that are designed to tackle excess water in a sustainable and economical way compared to conventional systems. This is to prevent flooding particularly in built-up areas.

TriDrive UV Resistant Resin System for Bound Paving has been developed as a SUDS compliant permeable system. TriDrive UVR allows water to soak through the surface, helping rapid surface water runoff that causes flooding.

Our Training Course goes through SUDS Compliance and where planning permission is essential.

Aftercare

A TriDrive UV Resistant Resin System for Bound Paving requires minimal maintenace. To Maintain the appearance of the surface, regular sweeping with a stiff brush to keep the area free from leaves, loose aggregates and any other general detritus. Mechanical brushes with steel / metal bristles must not be used.  For any stains caused by oil spillages, most domestic detergents or degreasers can be used to remove ingrained dirt, with cold pressure washing. However,  care must be taken to avoid high pressure jet washing.

Description

TriPath is a flexible, two-part, solvent-free polyurethane hybrid resin binder system which, when used in conjunction with selected aggregates, provides a complete resin bonded surfacing system. A variety of colours, shades and textiles is available from Tricel Composites.

TriPath is supplied in 2-part sealed containers, Part A and Part B The combined pack weight is 17.5kg. The resin is supplied in a neutral amber colour to complement the finish achieved from most aggregate dressings. Our range of natural, kiln dried aggregates is available in a 1mm-3mm range, ideal for the TriPath system. Larger sized aggregates can be used with a corresponding adjustment to resin film thickness.

Shelf Life

Shelf Life of Tripath Resin System for Bonded Paving is 12 months when undercover in dry conditions. Do not allow extreme temperature fluctuations.

Uses

TriPath offers an aesthetically pleasing, highly durable surface. It will bond to menay substrates, including most asphalts, bitumen macadems and concrete substrates but also to wood and other substrates.

Areas of use include:

  • Driveways
  • Pathways
  • Cycleways
  • Office Buildings
  • Around Conservatories
  • Roof Terraces

Aggregates

We supply a wide range of natural, kiln-dried aggregates that are free from dust, silt and clay. When combined with TriDrive UV Resistant Resin System for Bound Paving,  it offers an exceptionnally resistant to dis-colouration after exposure to light. We recommend always using our UV Resistant system with light coloured aggregates.

If you choose to independently source your aggregates, it is essential that they are free from dust, silt, clay and are completely dry, as this issues will seriously affect the ability of TriDrive to form a bond with the aggregate.

Aftercare

It is normal for the surface to shed loosely bonded aggregate for a period of time after application. This aggregate is surplus to the bonded layer and can be swept or lightly pressure washed off. Sweeping should be carried out several times in the first few weeks after installtion until no further aggregate can be recovered. Otherwise, ongoing aftercare is not normally necessary. However loose detritus such as leaves and mud can be removed by light pressure washing, ensuring that the nozzle is held more than 15cm (6″) away from the surface. Oil staining can be treated with a stiff brush and a strong solution of detergent and water. This should be flushed awy with clean water afterwards.
