Tricel supplies a variety of resins at each of our locations across the UK, all of which are in stock for immediate dispatch. Our in-house technical team rigorously batch-tests each resin sourced from the highest quality manufacturers to ensure full traceability. We have tailored our range to meet the needs of our customers, regardless of industry. We provide resin for the marine, automotive, moulding, manufacturing, construction, and transport industries, to name just a few. Below is a list of some of the resins available from Tricel Composites. Our resin Range
Polyester Resin Supplies
Our Unsaturated Polyester Resins serve the Marine, Transport, Automotive, and Building industries. We offer two principal types as standard laminating systems: orthophthalic polyester, which is the standard, general-purpose resin. It is relatively inexpensive and versatile. Isophthalic polyester resins provide greater mechanical properties, making them better suited for higher temperatures and offering more resistance to corrosion. We supply a range of polyester resins in quantities to meet customer requirements, from 1kg to 1000kg.
If you’re looking to purchase resin wholesale across the UK and Ireland, speak to our Technical Support Team to see how we can help you save up to 15% per year.
Fire Retardant Resin
We offer a range of structural adhesives suitable for use with every resin in our range. We have collaborated with the UK’s best chemists and engineers to create products tailored for a variety of composite materials.
Our team manufactures all sealants and adhesives in a purpose-built building with temperature-controlled mixers that produce up to 30 tonnes per month, while also creating bespoke batches with the same controlled accuracy.
We produce all our sealants and adhesives right here in the UK, in strict accordance with ISO 9001:2015, and offer next-day dispatch.
Additionally, we are the exclusive suppliers for Kisling Sealants and Adhesives in the composite industry.
Epoxy Resin Supplies
Epoxy resins generally have a higher density than polyester resins and offer greater transparency and adhesion than general-purpose polyester resins. Manufacturers use epoxy resin in industrial applications for laminating and casting, where it often provides enhanced moisture and chemical resistance.
NPG
NPG is a high-performance resin that resists chemicals and heat, suitable for both hand and spray applications. It offers excellent wet-out and comes wax-free/tacky for further bonds and layers. You can use NPG resins with fibreglass and carbon.
Epoxy Casting Resin Supplies
Like Dicyclopentadiene, casting resins have low shrinkage and low viscosity. They perform similarly to epoxy, and you can add pigments and metal powders to change their colour. You can also use clear casting resins to create a water-clear, glass-like finish.
Casting resins provide exceptional strength and durability, making them ideal for tools, models, and artistic or decorative projects.
General Purpose Resin
We offer a wide range of orthophthalic and isophthalic resins, available with or without (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) WRAS approval or Lloyds Approval. Our general-purpose resin is typically a medium-viscosity resin with a variety of gel and cure times to suit your requirements for both hand lay and spray applications.
Tricel distributes resins from the world’s leading manufacturers, available in clear, white, or any RAL/BS colours.
Vinylester Resin
Vinylester resins resist water and chemicals better than polyester resins and offer good handling and curing properties. They provide excellent resistance to water and bond effectively to core materials.
Vinylester Tooling Resin
Vinylester resins resist corrosion better than both polyester and epoxy resins, making them ideal for areas that require thermal stability and high durability. These properties make vinylester resins the go-to product for high-performance composite work in moulding, marine, and automotive industries. They offer chemical resistance against acids, alkalis, oxidising agents, and heat.
DCPD
Dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) resins and casting resins have low shrinkage and low viscosity, allowing filler levels of up to 85% in polymer concrete and enabling snap cure.
Manufacturers design DCPD resins to create aesthetically pleasing parts with reduced print-through. They offer medium viscosity and a fast wet-out resin for both thick and thin laminates, ranging from 3-8mm.
DCPD provides a strong mechanical bond with acrylic.
Chemical and Corrosion Resistant
Our range of chemical and corrosion-resistant resins suits any work that requires chemical-resistant properties.
We use a Bisphenol-A epoxy vinyl ester for applications in corrosive environments. It also works well for mould construction and promotes chemical resistance.
Our Bisphenol epoxy novolac vinyl esters deliver outstanding chemical and mechanical properties, along with resistance to higher temperatures.
Polyurethane Resin Supplies
Our polyurethane resins provide high strength with relatively low weight, making them ideal for the automotive, transport, marine, construction, and building industries. We also supply a water-clear polyurethane casting resin. Polyurethane offers a wide resilience range and strong bonding properties.
TriCure Resin Range
Building on the success of the TriCure General Purpose Resin, Tricel Composites now offers a range of orthophthalic and isophthalic polyester resins, suitable for various composite applications in the construction, automotive, marine, and rail industries. This range includes options with cobalt, without cobalt, with low styrene emissions, and with high chemical resistance.
RTM/Injection Resin
Multi-layer polyester resins emit low styrene and have a low exotherm temperature, making them ideal for building multi-layer laminates.
Rapid Cure Multi-layer Polyester Resin
Multi-layer polyester resins emit low styrene and have a low exotherm temperature, making them ideal for building multi-layer laminates.
Adhesives
We offer a range of structural adhesives suitable for use with every resin in our range. We have collaborated with the UK’s best chemists and engineers to create products tailored for a variety of composite materials.
